NCMA Catalog Award Winners Demonstrate Excellence
Recognition is Part of the Successful 2009 NCMA Conference
May 12, 2009 – Bethesda, MD – The National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA) presented the President’s Awards for Cataloging Excellence at their 36th Annual Knowledge Exchange Conference, recentlyconducted at Newport Beach, California. Recognition was made for excellence in design and production of catalog content in a variety of medium.
Top honors for CD-ROM catalog went to Honeywell for the Bendix Brake CD and the top award for Web Cataloging went to Honeywell for Fram.com. CARDONE Industries received the top President’s Award for their printed Automotive Steering Catalog.
In addition, awards are presented by the leading data receivers to the suppliers who consistently outperform and provide the highest quality electronic applications data. The following Platinum Awards for Electronic Data Excellence were presented: Activant to Four Seasons, a Div of Standard Motor Products; AutoZone to ATSCO Remanufacturing; CSK to CARDONE Industries; NAPA Auto Parts to Gates Corporation; and WHI Solutions to Continental Automotive Systems.
Chris Nierintz, NCMA President and Product manager at Dorman Products, remarked, “we heard throughout this conference about the critical role that timely, full, rich, accurate catalog and product content plays in increasing automotive sales. The companies we recognized at the 36th annual Knowledge Exchange understand the importance of investing in the quality of their data and the methods of delivering that content to their customers”.

Catalog Managers Contribute to the Aftermarket Foundation
MOTOR and Pricedex add to NCMA Contribution
May 12, 2009 – Bethesda, MD – The National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA) continued their tradition of contributing to the Aftermarket Foundation at their annual conference, the NCMA Knowledge Exchange. At the conference, recently concluded in Newport Beach, California, NCMA presented the Aftermarket Foundation with $5,500. The check was accepted by Scott Luckett of AAIA on behalf of the Foundation and represents the second highest amount ever raised at the Knowledge Exchange conference.
In addition to the amount raised through a silent auction and a variety of charity raffles, special gifts by MOTOR Information Systems and Pricedex Software added significantly to the gift and brought the final amount to $5,500.
Speaking for the Foundation, Don Schlenger, Chairman Emeritus, said, “For years the NCMA has been raising awareness and money for the Aftermarket Foundation and I am humbled by this. The Foundation is the Heart of the Aftermarket, taking care of people in our industry (yours and mine) who have fallen on difficult times and have no where else to turn. For them and from us at the Foundation, thank you from the bottom of our hearts”.
Chris Nierintz, NCMA President and Product Manager at Dorman Products, said, “it says a lot about the people of the NCMA that they can dig deep and contribute to the Foundation so generously in this challenging environment. From the special gifts of MOTOR and Pricedex to the dollar raffle ticket purchases, every donation was made with a warm smile”.
Over the years, NCMA has raised over $30,000 for the Aftermarket Foundation. The NCMA Knowledge Exchange for 2010 is scheduled for April 24-27 at the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio, Texas.
